INFORMATION FOR NAVIGATING THIS BLOG

Hi Folks! For those of you who are regular visitors, please note the "About Me" section. There is a random question at the end so that might give you a smile, a thought, or something.

Also, I found something that is quite moving. I don't know the author but thought I would include it here. I'm sure it will mean different things to different people. Stop and think.

MY FRIEND

I'm Nearby
I stood by your bed,
I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying,
You found it hard to sleep.
I whined to you softly
as you brushed away a tear,
"It's me, I haven't left you,
I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."

I was close to you at breakfast,
I watched you pour your jar,
You were thinking of the many
times your hands reached down to me.

I was with you on the steps today.
Your back was getting sore.
I longed to help you up,
I wish I could do more.

I walked with you towards the door,
as you fumbled with the knob.
I gently put my paw on you,
I smiled and said "it's me."

You looked so very tired,
and sank into your bed.
I tried so hard to let you know,
that I was standing there.

It's possible for me,
to be so near you everyday.
To say with certainty,
"I never went away"

You sat there very quietly,
then smiled, I think you knew...
in the stillness of the evening,
I was very close to you.

The day is over...smile and watch
you yawning and say "goodnight,
God bless, I'll see you in the
morning."

And when the time is right for you
to cross the brief divide, I'll rush
across to greet you and we'll stand,
side by side.

I have so many things to show you,
there is so much for you to see.
Be patient, live your journey out,
then come home to be with me.

Lockdown Life

The endless days of lockdown has made it possible to find other ways to socialize. I have always had my online friends but during this time, they have been invaluable. All conversations have now had to take place online whether you live 10 miles away or a continent away. Whatever would we have done without video calling, email, messaging and all the various other ways we have learned to communicate.

I have always had online friends but this situation enabled me to meet and interact with new friends thus forming friendships I expect to last a lifetime. It is hard to even express the comfort I took from friends both new and old.

The good news is that lockdown will eventually end but the friendships will continue.

You all know who you are and this is an opportunity to thank you for making this trying time so much better.

GETTING OLDER!!!

It is amazing how things change as we age. Things that used to take me an hour to do, now takes me a week. Who knew? The above graphic was...
